PCs & Laptops
MP3 / MP4 files will through Windows Media Player on a double click, and ISO files through VLC Media Player or similar software on your Windows PC or Laptop.

Apple Computers, MacBooks etc.
Apple computers will play MP3 through iTunes (Music) and will play ISO files through VLC Media Player. Mac’s will also load the ISO file like a disc through Disk Utility. MP4 files will play through Quicktime Player on Macs.

Ripping DVDs to MP4 files will copy the main movie only at 16:9 ratio (4:3 only if 16:9 is not available) and ignore the other contents of the DVD. Ripping to ISO provides a full image copy of the DVD.

DVDs are given a Volume Name in the mastering stage. For commercially produced DVDs this means in nearly all cases this Volume Name relates to the name of the film. For example, Independence Day has a Volume Name of “INDEPENDENCE_DAY_Title1”. On ripping this is the name that will be attributed to the file accordingly:-

INDEPENDENCE_DAY_Title1.mp4

In a significant minority of cases the Volume Name may bear no relation to the film title. “DVD_Volume” is popular or in the case of BBC videos an ID code is often used. In these cases, we will attempt to “catch them” as they go through the system and rename them appropriately. In the event that one slips through the process the file renaming process is easy to carry out by right clicking the file and going to “Rename” on the drop down menu.

Processed discs will be shrink wrapped in stacks of 80 to 100 prior to return. The order in which CDs or DVDs are returned to you cannot be guaranteed.

Under advice from IMRO, Copysmith are allowed to supply one copy of copyrighted material on an alternative format if the original format is a legitimately purchased authentic copy, for personal use only. We are unable to provide ripping services for CD-R or DVD-R pirate copies of films and performances that carry copyright. Prices above apply to standard audio 80 minute CD-ROM, DVD5 and DVD9 discs. DVD-10 double sided discs will be charged at a rip per side equivalent to the same charge for 2 x DVD5. DVD18 discs will be charged at quadruple the price of DVD5. Discs must be free of scratches and be clean. Reject discs will be charged and may be polished at an extra charge of €5 per disc to enable a second pass with your permission. Polished discs are not guaranteed to pass. Discs must be provided to us bulk, i.e. no cases or sleeves. Removal of discs from cases or sleeves will be charged at € 0.10 per disc. Discs will not be re-inserted in cases or sleeves for return.
